  • Your Veins in Natural Light

    The most common way is to check your veins in natural light.

    Step 1: Position your bare arm against natural light.

    Step 2: If the veins underneath your skin look blue or purple in natural light, it means your undertone is cool. If the veins look green green-ish blue, then it’s warm.

    Step 1: Lay out silver and gold jewelry that you will test against your skin.

    Step 2: Put on the jewelry in a room with natural light. You may try on the silver jewelry first before trying on the gold jewelry, or vice versa.

    Step 3: If silver jewelry looks better against your skin than gold jewelry does, you likely have a cool undertone. It’s probably warm if gold looks better on you than silver does.

    Step 1: Bring out a white t-shirt and put it on in a naturally lit room.

    Step 2: If your skin appears pinkish or rosy when you’re wearing white, you’re cool-toned. But if your skin looks more yellow, olive, or tanned, then you’re warm-toned.

    You can also consider the color of clothes you usually wear.
